Lexie Whalen is from Beloit, WI. She began competitive dancing at age 6, and her love of dance only grew from there. She competed in multiple styles such as lyrical, tap, jazz, and hip hop but her specialty was jazz and musical theatre.
Lexie started her competitive dance journey at J&J Dance in Pecatonica, IL but later moved to Dance FX in Rockton, IL where she trained under Meghan LaMarca for several years. After moving to Dance FX, she not only was an award winning dancer in her solos, duos and trios but also found her true passion for teaching and choreographing. Alongside her passion for dance, she also has a strong love for teaching her students tumbling and how to feel confident in it. From the minute she started dancing at 6, she also took tumbling classes which not only allowed her to add those to her dance skills but also allowed her to be a collegiate cheerleader at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
After earning her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, she now works at Tricoci University of Beauty Culture as one of their admissions advisors, helping individuals start their journey into the beauty industry. Although she has a full-time job outside of the studio, she still continues to teach dance and tumbling because she not only wants to teach young children how to use it as a creative outlet for their emotions but also to see the joy of each and every single student doing what they love! Teaching is truly not a “job” for her but a passion.
